Edinburgh Airport Disabled Facilities ...

Disabled Help Points

When travelling with any disability or should you require special assistance, this can be booked through the airline you are travelling with.

Disabled help points are available for  special needs passengers or disabled travellers at Edinburgh Airport. These can be found around the airport building including the terminal forecourts, the car parks and rail station and baggage reclaim halls.

The help points locate your position within the airport so you can find the facility or amenity you are trying to locate. You can also use the points to request help getting around the airport in a wheelchair or help carrying bags to check-in.

  Pre-booking Help
  Telephone +44 (0)131 344 3486.

Induction loops are available for the use of partially sighted or hard of hearing passengers throughout the airport. These can be easily identified by the clear 'sympathetic ear' symbol.

All the airports credit card and pay phones have been adapted with hearing aids. Also, there's a text pay phone in International arrivals after exiting customs.

For ease of use all the airport's signage use black text on a yellow background. Do note that guide dogs and hearing dogs are allowed in Edinburgh Airport.

There are unisex wheelchair toilets in both the landside and airside passenger waiting areas.

Safety and security of all passengers is the number one priority and so all passengers are requested to pass through security control. For those passengers in a wheelchair will be requested to take a hand search by a security officer.

Any disabled passenger passing through Edinburgh Airport, who does not want the additional fuss and inconvenience with finding remote car parks and trying to get onto transfer buses should book Valet meet and greet parking.

This convenient service means that the disabled traveller leaves their car outside the airport terminal with the Rep who's waiting for their arrival. The car is then taken to a secure car park for the duration of the trip. The car is then brought back to the terminal for passengers to head straight home.

The Valet meet and greet car parking service provides disabled travellers at Edinburgh Airport with an easy and stress free start, and finish to their holiday. It's also an ideal service for those travelling with a family or heavy luggage including sports equipment.

Expect to pay around £83 for one week and £118 for two weeks. Do pre-book this service as always popular, especially during the peak travelling summer months. For the very best rates at Edinburgh Airport book through www.HelpMeTravel.co.uk.
